The Introvert’s Party
Do not send out the Invitations,
I know who the guests will be,
there will be no need for expense,
it is just a little soiree.
Do not send out for expensive bottles of wine,
there will be no cash bar.
I will not be asking for Red Lobster,
or copious amounts of Caviar.
The topics of Conversation will be wide ranging,
and will touch upon Literature,
but we will stay away from Politics, Religion,
and the latest things happening in Reality TV.
There will be music, but it will be my choice.
We will not play party games.
I think that that type of thing is frowned
upon on trains.
Where people sit in huddle masses,
reading newspapers over each other’s shoulders,
look away when eye contact is met,
and sigh every time a small child asks
‘Are we nearly there yet?’
