Magic Beans

So, everyone is happy.
Cinderella is with her Prince Charming,
She will have a life of ease,
Buttons will plaster a false smile over his face,
and pretend he is happy that Cinders has put
good looks above a good heart.
The Ugly Sisters are beside themselves with jealousy,
That the Prince has put surface gloss over their charms.

Jack has invested his Family’s fortune in Magic Beans,
And now the cow that would have provided food for the table
has been taken away,
and the Magic Beans will bring a murderous giant to Jack’s life.
Fe Fi Fo Fum, I smell the blood of an English Man.

And Dick Whittington is so lonely for company,
That he takes his Cat along, and is surprised at the level of conversation.

And all across the land, faded actors, and unpopular reality stars
will ask what happened to their career,
and children who don’t know who they are will reply
‘It’s behind you’.

I just love it! A great performance piece. Very true - well observed. Will you be going to a panto this yuletide??

Great title, too.
