Take Me

Lord, if it be your wish,
I am here to say,
take me today.
In this world of magic,
I wouldn’t change a thing.
I can only wonder.

The struggle has been worth
everything and more
in this realm of fantasy,
I have never owned less.
I have never felt such happiness.
I wouldn’t change a thing,
I can only sing.

The beloved extraordinary people
I have been heaven sent
have left me profoundly content,
in this oasis of dreams,
all is not what it seems.
I wouldn’t change a thing,
I can only weep.

This gift of indulgent strife,
this gift of most precious, unbelievable life
has left me awed.
In my belly’s rising heat,
I feel the surging drums beat.
I wouldn’t change a thing,
I can only dance.
