I am Woman: 21st Century Gal

The games we once played,
...Seems like many years ago today.
You offered me your hand in matrimony,
I took it graciously;
I asked not a question,
Not even foreseeable was my destination.
I was your wife and object,
Your unequal pacifist.
Today,I do just as I please -
There is absolutely no need to chauffer me.
No husband have I to tame and tie me down.
Nor children to run me ragged and drive me wild.
I petitioned to vote and burned my bra.
I revolutionised an era, I have come oh so very far.
Oh yes, my skirts are short and pencil thin,
Skimming the trim figure I am now comfortable in.
I am woman strong and proud,
I am woman bold...and sometimes wild.
Occassionally puffing on a Marlborought Light.
Leisurely I sip courvoisier and full bodied red wine.
I read the Guardian and listen to the news;
I possess an opinion,
And express my views too.
I budget my bills AND buy my own shoes.
I fancy you ...and (quite a few)other men too.
Not your rival am I hoping to be
Just woman strong and proud
...and defiant too?
