At This Shore

Word Count: 91
Summary: A walk in the park, split beautifully by a moment of remembrance, of space rising up between my thoughts.

At This Shore

Seeing you again at this shore
A vibrant old friend, fresh from the past
And freed from both perditions
That, is what life became
Eternal passage from port to port
Staying quite still between
Those frantic persuasions
Of tomorrow, and yesterday.
Seeing you again at this shore,
The seabed glows brighter beneath me
Vast blue provenance swaying gently
Waves muttering of the truth below
It takes something like sleep
To dream between the ocean and the surface
As I sink my quiet hatchet
Into the hull of distraction.
