Summary: Yes, Channel Hopping does mean the act of flicking through television channels. Apologies for any typos.

The newest inmate to the Bermuda Prison Rig overcame guards and security today, escaping into a watery abyss, with two other notorious criminals. Behind them they left a putrid blood bath, with many staff and inmates alike left dead.
From his first murder in January 2005, Eddie Burrow has been the most hunted man in recent history. After a painful and high profile two and a half year court battle he was finally sent to the Bermuda Rig for the rest of his life. At the time, arresting officer, 44year old, Nathan Whitly commented, “That Rig was built for this man. I can finally sleep, knowing he is one step from oblivion.”
Five mile from the inexplicable Bermuda Triangle, at 5:52 this morning, a small 4-man boat sped away from the Prison Rig. In the boat was Eddie Burrow, along with Jed Hondale – “The Messiah” – and Michaela Phillips, otherwise known as “The Cheater”. These three violent masterminds escaped into the mysterious Triangle itself. As of yet there has been no trace of them or the boat.
We apologise for the interruption in your viewing. You will now be returned to your evening’s entertainment. More news at ten. Thank you.

I’d like to read you an extract from the number one best selling book of this year and last. It’s by Nathan Whitly, and is all about his twelve year chase of the first real life super-villain, Ed Burrow. Now, if I may…

‘Just over a year before his arrest, I had an encounter with Edward Burrow – one I would prefer to forget. At the SOC for the 256th victim, I became detracted by something in my peripherals.
I wandered, carelessly alone, into a nearby building, which was an old abandoned warehouse. I would apologise for the cliché but I’m afraid it’s just true.
Once several metres into the building all I could see was what little sunlight showed me. Aware of the danger of the situation, I turned to exit through my entrance point. Upon turning around I was exceedingly disturbed to find it had been shut. As it was now in shadow I couldn’t see my exact portal to which to flee.
Starting in the general direction of the door, I suddenly became frozen. In fear I have found the senses become erratic and often un-rational – before any adrenaline is pumped into you.
All I could hear was sickening palpitations that seemed to have migrated from my chest to my ears. I could feel none of my body, except perhaps one small tear. A tear because all I could see was a shadow, his shadow – holding a blade.
What followed is something I have never been able to tell even my therapist. All I can say is that in that small period of time is the reason for Ed’s change in bite pattern and for my change in speech.’

Now, I must say that this book is haunting and unnerving all the way through. It really delves into the hunter and the prey’s minds. Which leaves us with one last question to pose; who is the hunter and who is the prey?

*~*~*

As we all know Edward Burrow was a malicious and unremorseful serial killer. Over the years there has been no way to escape or ignore this twisted individual. With an average body count of two victims per month, over twelve years he has killed two hundred and eighty eight people. All of these poor souls found their justice in 2020, perhaps 15years after their death’s when he was found guilty of all charges.
31 of the charges were aided through forensic ondontology evidence based upon Burrow’s bite mark. The other 257 could not be shown conclusively through this method, as his bite mark had been altered, something he commented on as being “dear Mr. Nathan’s handy work”.
Similarly, Nathan Whitly’s reconstructed and scarred right cheek is said to have been from a run in with his life long case – Burrow.
The media dubbed “Super Villain” always left a calling card, his bite, and also took a trophy. His trophies were not discovered until he was arrested in 2017. A homemade passport with pictures of the victims alongside information of exact times of attacks and deaths, as well as gruesome statistics.
This vile passport was the vital piece of evidence in The Burrow Trial. Of course eventually leading to his inevitable downfall.

*~*~*

I am adamant that not only is Eddie Burrow insane but also Nathan Whitly is suitably deranged. I know he’s seeing a professional but no man could ever cope with what he’s been through, even with the amount of prescriptions he has.
I guarantee you that man does not sleep at night – or any other time for that matter. He is definitely a complete paranoid mess, no question about it. Wouldn’t you be?
This poor man has had a lunatic serial killer practically stalking his mind for a good part of his life – I doubt he remembers anything before this man appeared.
As for Burrow, it seems to me like he has a very odd affinity of Whitly. In public, he calls him Nathan – first name terms – and has often preceded this with ‘dear’ or ‘my dear’. It is very unusual but I shouldn’t be surprised if Burrow actually loves Nathan Whitly.

We interrupt this broadcast to bring you this special news bulletin.
Jed “The Messiah” Hondale has been found dead and brutalised. Early forensic reports indicate the trademarks calling cards of both his fellow escapees, Edward Burrow and Michaela Phillips.
The trio escaped into the Bermuda Triangle almost three months ago, they were presumed dead as no on has ever survived the Triangle. This afternoon Nathan Whitly made this comment to our news team,
‘I told you not to presume didn’t I? This man is one of the most intelligent people on the planet, never underestimate him!’
Haunting words from a frightened man. More on this story at six, for now we shall resume your normal television broadcast.

*~*~*

I was seventeen when the first murder happened and I was so happy when they finally caught Burrow. A day second only to when he was convicted for my sister’s murder. Over the year, I admit, I became obsessed over the murders, if you were in my position you would have done too. At least ten people my sister knew ended up in psychiatric treatment, including me. So for every person Ed Burrow killed, about ten lives would be destroyed. All in all he has effectively taken the lives of two thousand eight hundred and eighty people. But when I held a rally for those who had been hurt deeply by this man’s acts, over ten thousand people turned up.
Ten thousand people can’t all think and feel the same but everyone that day said Nathan Whitly had their profuse and undying sympathies.

*~*~*

Three hours ago Michaela Phillips was found dead lying on a park bench. Apparently her body has been brutalised in the same ways as not only Ed Burrow’s victims but also Jed Hondale’s. Further investigations have been launched due to Hondale’s incapability to murder after his own death three weeks ago.

*~*~*

It has been announced that Jed Hondale and Michaela Phillips both died at the same time, on the same day around one month ago.
As this new case becomes more complex the hunt for Edward Burrow was been strengthened. Nathan Whitly has returned from a career break to help with this investigation.
Those are the top stories today, good night.

*~*~*

How much mental anguish is this man, Whitly, going to put himself through? Surely he is tired of this constant game of cat and mouse by now. His health is at serious risk if he continues much longer. Perhaps he should accept that Eddie Burrow is just not a man you can catch, and keep caught.
Edward Burrow kept a “passport” of his victims; maybe he was sending them on a trip to an afterlife. Regardless, a man who records exact details of his victim’s death is well and truly messed in the head.
Everyone knows Burrow has tried to kill Whitly before. Why wouldn’t he try again given the chance? Whitly should step down now.

*~*~*

This morning Nathan Whitly was found dead in his home. Eddie Burrow is suspects.

*~*~*

Today the following letter was published in newspapers across the world. It was found inside Nathan Whitly’s chest, in place of his heart, enclosed in a plastic bag.

‘My dear Nathan, I am so dreadfully sorry it took me so long to find you again but you’ve become somewhat paranoid over the years. Rightly so. I don’t suppose it will be too long before this little love letter is spread worldwide; I give it a week – tops.
Whatever happened to you dear Nathan? You were so young and carefree when you were twenty-nine, now you’re old. You look older. I suppose that’s what I do to a man.
You know this could’ve ended so long ago. Kathleen Edwards (number 256, Nathan) was a mere lure for you, I wanted you. Unfortunately a metal bar to my face made me rather angry and quite resentful of choosing you. All the other’s after that day were to spite you, to punish you for not giving up your life to save others. Why do you think your picture was in my little passport, Nathan?
I suppose in a way you always were my only friend – no on else paid me this much attention and went out of their way for me. So in a way, thank you – for finally giving in. At least now my passport is completed.
I’ll see you around my dear Nathan; I do hope you are enjoying your sleep.
With love
Eddie.

*~*~*

Today, fifty two years since his surrender, taking with him the whereabouts of Nathan Whitly’s heart, Eddie Burrow’s remains were cast into the Bermuda Triangle.
