Buddha made of brass

buddha made of brass
a cold cast rewarmed
on hearts funeral pyre
minds fire burnt black,

the ash pressed deep
in folded metal cloth
the hard lotus throne
melted in meditation,

a pale yellow youth
sits straight and thin
smile polished bright
a body made hollow.
