The Affair

if someone were to turn to me with their rotten morals
I simply would reply,
but how can you be so ignorant, so timid, so flaccid with your lateral look at love?

stopping me from making love to this man is like saying no to the fly that eats shit
telling me why not to, is as futile as the argument between the vulture&vegan -
my wings are spread anyway.

Rules&Regulations say this simply is not right
but lying next to you I could not give a shite
and for the first time I experience silence,
a calming of the heart,
nirvana has descended and I blush as I emit a fart.

what do you do though when something feels so essential?
the opposite of déjà vu, so sensual
and then the hands on my clock tell me I must hurry
and so I rush off in a flurry
and sitting in my car later I go ‘Oh!’
because I left behind my heart attached to yours when I pressed it there as we moved to and fro
tears introduce themselves to the panels of my nose as they slip by
announcing to the rest of me, that all I can do is cry.

loving a lover of many who is only attached to one
and you dream of how to make it un-done
and as you drive off you feel a beat beat and smile because you are one.
his heart is yours and yours is now his
but what happens now then? Do you part and wilt and just shrug and move on?
what about all the miscellaneous? Does it matter if at all?
if love is so spell-binding, explosive and powerful,
why try and tame it to mundanity
the petty and the obscure?

arcane myths prevail at times when reality slips away
dream a dream of fantasy and soon the heaven’s will collide.
your world may not enter my world,
but then mine is transcendence of that dross.
if we are not to be together
now or ever, still I shall leap high like a hare in the heather.

you are my darling for one night,
and so henceforth I tell the Rules&Regulations to turn around -
Love has escaped your crutch.
