Author and cultural commentator Lisa Appignanesi talks to psychoanalyst Margot Waddell about her new book, Mad, Bad and Sad: A history of women and the mind doctors from 1800 to the present. They will explore the changing attitudes towards women's mental health over the last 200 years and look at how women have contributed to the development of the professions that treat them - as patients, as objects of experiments and eventually as mind doctors themselves.
