This is a beautiful collection of short stories from the Virago house. As her central theme, Pam Houston takes us into the heart of her obsession with America's wild places and the 'wild' men who live there.

Each tale is essentially a woman's look at men, with some wonderful erotic images and the scope of the true wilderness... both those geographical and those within the heart.

Touching, funny and honest, it is highly reccomended reading.
