Theatre news; new venue and award

There's a new venue in London; the Sound Theatre, a converted nightclub in the Swiss Centre, Leicester Square, will open on June 21 with a production of The Laramie Project, a fact based account of the murder of a gay student in Wyoming.

And this year's Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award has been won by Almost Blue, based on the surreal thriller by Italian writer Carlo Lucarelli, about a blind man with syaesthesia. It will be staged at the Riverside Theatre , London, this autumn.
