This book is part autobiography - part text book. It gives us an insight into the man who is Stephen King as well as a personalised and detailed explanation of his working methods.

You may find that some of his strategies are not to your liking - no planning of the plot, just drop your characters into a situation and see where they take you - but I guarantee that you'll come away from the book with some fresh ideas.

The whole thing is hugely readable, but then what would you expect from an author of such stature
