A favourite of mine that I read over and over and a must for any bibliophile. A wonderful collection of essays about books, that covers everything from the joy of sesquipidalians (long words) to the carnal vs courtly ways to treat a book. With a great sense of humour and an affectionate portrait of a book-crazy family, it's irresistible (and makes a perfect gift).
