Nose, small, button black
Popped onto a scrunched up face
Jowls hanging down

Little glowing eyes
Looking up expectantly
Wagging away, happy to be…

My furry friend
Playing, jumping, running
Just happy to be with me, lean against me

My best buddy,
My friend,
My dog.

Hi Optiplex

only been on the site today and bravo! I think that this beautifully describes the physical appearance of your pet and also the emotional tie that you both obviously feel.

Ah! This is so sweet! I used to have a dog who meant the entire world to me and this poem captures that perfectly. I still miss the old boy but these days, my cat follows me around like a shadow and does really sweet thngs - like put a paw on my arm on headbutt my nose with hers. Pets are great and poems about them always touch my heart. Brilliant!
Beanie.

Hello Stu

Thank you for acknowloging (sure i've spelt that wrong but it's late) my comment. I really do like this - it describes your friend, and you will always be her hero. Pets are wonderful but cats are clever than dogs - who are more loyal.

My Dad always says - feed a cat forever, she'll love you for a day, feed a dog a day she'll love you for a lifetime.

so true!
