Christmas thoughts while making coffee

Summary: A friend asked me today if I knew any good Christmas and/or New Year poetry. I sent her some examples by Longfellow, Scott, Wordsworth. None of them fitted the bill. So while making coffee I penned the following lines. Nothing too special about them, just a bit of fun and they are now going to be used in several hundred corporate Christmas cards!

From darkness springs New Year's light,
With Christmas cheer still warming hearts.
Fresh fall snow so pure and white,
Makes true the dream of brand new starts.

Hi,
This is perfectly seasonal and has inspired me to make some serious New Year resolutions (which I will probably have broken by mid-January).
