A Christmas Wish

a full moon eagle rises
in a white rabbits eyes

the cold burn of starlight
unrolling over the ocean

as the Blue whale folds
through the arctic waves

Cathedral candles gutter
into shallow wax moats

and an old woman
bent like a bracket

prays she lives
to see the summer

bring her grandchild
home from the winter

of human war.

Hi John

Loved this. So vivid and poignant. A great prayer for Christmas. Wish yours is good. S

john,

I have to agree with shika. I really enjoyed the piece, it made me feel sad and yet like there hope at the same time.

Enjoyed this lucid piece, light and shadows. There is so much drama in the world. Nikki
