You know them - fresh summer nights
You lay on your back
And the air, oh man, this air.
It lets your heart go out to play
you feel it in your throat,
In the blood stream.
Reach out, grab one more dream.

It pours underneath you, fills all voids
You glide upon an aspiration flood.
Want to scream and laugh out load,
Get up, run and dance around.
But you let it take you where it bound.

A sense pours in through the window
You can read it off the air.
You breath it in
And store it in your head.
It’s a familiar, rare exhilaration
You had when you were young
the night before your birthday
and how you knew tomorrow is
a destination.

You float there, not quite in solid state -
Hear the highway driving-by outside the window.
It can take you all the way
Wherever you may wish play.
But there is no reason to arrive
This car will always have full tank of gas.

And you can smell the citrus tree
You know its out there, standing free.
outside your window.
The air is fresh, so clean, and thick
So you just know the starts are out there too,
Too light to sink, too bright to die.
Above your roof

So you lay there on your back
With a lengthy smile on your face
Excited with no trace
And you can just feel it –
something good is bound your way
and you cannot wait
Even if its just another day.

Reading round the typos ;) I thought you caught something here - I recognised so clearly that emotion you describe in the stanza starting 'A sense pours in through the window.' Sometimes the words you use seem wrong but then the image you are making takes over. I am going to read your other poem now! Love, Maria.
