Your day

This is my remembrance day
no bands or marching men
no pomp or circumstance
just private cherished
memory

This is my thoughtful day
when I think just of you
your kindness and your love
the comfort I could see
in your eyes

This is my day to miss you
feel you in my heart
wishing you could guide me
calm my troubled soul
to peacefulness

This is my celebration day
I remember all the fun
your smiles your laugh
lightening my darkness
like the morning sun

This is my day of sadness
but not of misery
for your spirit goes on
death has no dominion
while you live in me

This is extremely moving, told with exquisite simplicity, obviously deeply felt.
Nothing more to say - I wouldn't have the temerity to suggest that any alteration could or should be made to this.
Not wishing to stir old pots, but, for me this fulfils and justifies the criteria which some have been furiously debating recently.
Anyhoo, a very lovely piece of writing.

Best,

T

This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever read. Reduced to a mere puddle! Oonah

Ti and Vy

Thanks so much. I'm touched that this spoke to you both. I tried to keep it as simple as I could.

Lovely, Z. This would be wonderful to be read at a (I was going to say 'funeral', but much better....) Celebration of Life. You have expressed the sentiments perfectly. Gorgeous.

Hi Z

I think what is most compelling about this work is the repetion of the day - as each day becomes something to get through but also a gift that we all have. We can all relate to this lovely writing thanks
Tina
