When I was young, they told me,
They told me everything was fact,
They said that three meant 3,
That the week started on Monday,
They taught me how to tell the time.

When I was twelve, they told me,
They told me I was wrong,
They said not to challenge them,
That facts are real and I must conform,
They taught me how to shrink away.

When I am me, they tell me,
They tell me that I’m crazy,
They say my view is impossible,
That the world is what we see,
They teach me to break through.

When you are born, they force you,
They force you to believe in truth,
They indoctrinate you to rules,
That society, creation, nature exist,
They never show you our false reality.

Rai,
you're spot-on with this, it's like when we have a name for it, then we believe we understand it, like gravity.
Great stuff
Andrew :o)

Hi Rai - very powerful and oh-so true! In the 3rd verse, is there a word missing from the last line? It may just be me ( it's early! ), but it didn't seem to read well.

Well done, great work.

Lisa, thanks and indeed there was a word missing.
Andrew, thank you very much, I was hoping for that effect. Thanks both of you.
