Joyful whistle,
trains coming.
Early morning,
sounds drumming.

Steam train,
puffing away,
WHOO,WHOO,
SH,SHSSSSSS.

All aboard,
time to go.
Slamming doors,
all ago.

Trail of smoke,
hiss of steam.
Puffing billy,
time to go.

Under the tunnels.
close all the windows.
Smoke erupts in the carriage.
Coughing and spluttering,
this is first class

They were the good old days.
Steam trains.
Flying Scotsman.
Shooting up into the isles.

See my granny up there,
collecting numbers,
as they sped by.
What happened to my countryside?

Now no numbers,
just electric,
Am i just eccentric,
have i lost it.

Nah..we still got it.
In a museum.
Pity our grandchildren,
lost it all.
