Lucifer`s Embrace

Today,
Amidst spectres of
Grizzly grey,
I am painfully aware
I have morphed into a
A screaming banshee.

Snakes teem
From the
Festering cesspool
Of my mouth.

And, in torment
I have to concede
I have mutated
Into a caterwauling
Fractious
She Devil.

For Lucifer
Is my enticing lover
And caught in his
Lascivious embrace,
He forces me to dance
To his rapturous tune.

And, as is his fickle way,
He will forsake me
Upon tomorrow’s dawn,
And from my sweat-drenched bed
I will rise
The radiant personification
Of an angel.

Thank you Poemsgalore! Yes, it is powerful and emotional. Was just reflecting upon two things really, firstly that we are not always what we hope to be all the time and, secondly, no matter how much one lashes out at loved ones, it is oneself who
suffers the most as a result.

Hi Walrus,

‘Wow’, in fact ‘wow’ again!

That was powerful, your darker side was definitely giving some motivation here!
It was as if a meticulous dissection of 'reaction' was going on.

With all we loathe ourselves for the things we say, just remember;

‘The silent tongue never bred sorrow,
It never gave love either…’
(From ‘The Songs of the Samurai’)

Just remember to kiss and make up! ~;-)

Hi Sam

Yeah, not exactly the most pleasant of subject matters to write about but true nevertheless.

Loved your quote from 'The Songs of The Samurai' - must get a copy.

Thanks for your comments.

I adore the raw power of this piece; very strong, decadent use of imagery was joined with steaming hot emotion on the day this piece was born. I like it.

Glad you like it Fearless. It was like giving birth to a very troublesome elephant (not speaking from personal experience of course).

It's a good piece, shows a broadening of your scope. I like it. Write on.
