outstretched arms defend
in sheltered embrace
and under the gentle folds
a green mantle shrouds
the town from the land

a random, fractal mosaic
intersects and collides and
tumbles down the hill

the guiding light smiles
to welcome home those
who navigate by the stars
the worldly and the wise

waves lash the wild wind pushes past
yet granite walls hold fast
at the close of the day
this place stands content and proud

Kernow is certainly a land apart... and stands proud to be Cornish

Thanks Tina - glad you liked that one - Andrew :o)

Makes me want to go back! I can see that living in Cornwall would bring out the poetry in you. It's a lovely poem full of unusual imagery.

Frances - yes it's quite a contrast from south London. Thanks for your positive comments. The fractal mosaic imagery was a reference to the geometry of the roofs at different angles.
