He came
He stayed,
Never conquered,
still alone.

We talked for days,
never strayed.
Learned a lot
hopes all gone.

Unsure what i wanted,
perhaps expecting too much.
We didn't kiss or carress,
my fear as such.

Lived alone too many years.
A man i do not need.
Friends we are and always will.
Silence a luxury.

It is a poem about a man. Who i thought maybe ok, think too set in my ways. Think i enjoy my freedom too much. xx alice

Alice - this is such a simple piece and yet it's so powerful. There's a sense of resolution twinned with fear, a strength juxtaposed with vulnerability...lovely lovely poem.
