Not meant to be...?

Summary: In response to Fearless' earlier piece in which he touched upon what it is to fall in love with somebody far removed from your 'ideal'...this is a tad twee, so I apologise in advance.

Where is my sex-god,
my darling carved from stone?
Where's my wealthy Prince
and my palace of a home?
The glitzy dinner parties
are nowhere to be seen,
my life's light years from where
it rightly should have been.
My Love is merely mortal -
a man of flesh and bone,
our house is oh-so-normal,
less majestic in its tone.
Our parties, fun, yet low-key
are not shiny gilt affairs -
this life was not intended,
but I'm thanksful that it's there.

Life is not a dream but real. anyone who wants glitz and glamour is not even half alive. To be alive in an all consuming passion is worth all the riches in the world.
Better to have loved and lost than rich and lonely. xxAlice

Al - I agree. Love is not a fairy-tale or a movie - love is about real people with real feelings.
