Silence is everywhere
There’s nothing left to drink
My baby stopped breathing
Lying by the wall
The clock stops ticking
Tears freeze on my cheek

Broken glass covers my floor
Drops of blood run free
Time drags slowly to halt

And the boredom pains
Create death by dumbness
So now I can never speak
In my despair I weep
I wave goodnight
Have fun, sleep tight

I am stuck for words. So sad a poem but great to read. It is life in all its stages.xAl

Rai

I always enjoy reading your lyrics. With this piece you have captured the pain, cold, shock, and the never-ending moment that is pain. Write on.

I'm sorry, i know two people have commented at least - but for some reason the comments haven't appeared yet. So i'm hoping this might work. When i eventually manage to see your comments, i'll reply.

Thank you both very much for your lovely comments, I've just had an awful day and they cheered me up. Thanks again.

Rai - somehow I missed this piece - shame on me! This is so so strong and the sadness it both conveys and evokes in the reader is like a lightning bolt to the heart and indeed to the tear-ducts. Beautiful.
