I see the fear in your eyes -
evil iced jags
tearing at dark lustrous velvet.

No need to be afraid,
is what I long to say.
Yet my mouth speaks no words -
rather it contorts
in pained silence.

We have today.
Don't we?
This moment.
Its own glorious eternity.
Let us luxuriate
in the certainty of now.

So many changes, all in such a short space of time. We know not the future, but we know ourselves and the now. Perhaps, perhaps, that's just enough.

Fearless - sometimes in life everything and everyone appear so fragile. It's as though one is watching a hairline crack spread across the surface of existence. Nothing is safe, no-one can offer salvation.
