Battling my way in breaking winds.
Trek'ing through the snow
i know you're out there
find you I will.

I search what seemed hours
frozen to the bone.
I suddenly saw red spots,
cringed and thought of you alone.

Heart now beating faster,
I will not give in
search i will
till you are here and now.

Suddenly a whimper
then i spotted you again
blood all around
I run to you.

eyes so soulful
mine in tears
paw cut and torn
reunited once more.

On bended knees
i kiss your nose
you lick mine
Home again to mend
your poorly poorly paw

Serious dog lover - it was Christmas time when my dog died thus I really love your poem.
Hope that if you have a real canine friend he is well now!!
Thanks
Tina

Oh how weird! It was six years ago today when my dog Tom died in a house fire. Wish I could write a poem for him.
Thanks Roovacrag.
Dee.
