Nothing worse than jealousy
green-eyed monster
hidden within.
resentful
suspicious
envious
deep inside eating your all.

Why not calm down,
take life at its pace,
no need for the rat race
just calm,take haste.

Keep the green eyes
underwraps.
you will lose all
if you don't take care.

The one you love most
will surely move on
green- eyed monster
will have won
once more

I'm going to be controversial here and disagree with my esteemed WW fellow members. Although I liked the imagery of the third stanza very much, keeping jealousy under wraps (effectively hidden and undealt with), in my opinion, is exactly where it will wreak havoc.

But, this is a minor point. I loved the poem Alice - a strong and very destructive emotion to write about and, there is no doubt, you have done it well.

I really like 'underwraps' as one word, like 'unawares'.

nice poem too.

Tell me about it. Isn’t it deplorable how the green-eyed monster can eat away at a seemingly normal human being to the point that they lose all sense of reason. Usually the end result is that it does no good but destroys completely and extensively. It is well captured in this piece. Sounds like though its something that you must have observed and are giving a friendly warning to someone you care about because you are worried about their change in character/behaviour brought on by this jealousy aspect. Well captured.
