Very Christmassy Jennifer. I think you could possibly omit the last line, it sits well without it.

Oh I'm going to disagree with Jo, Jennifer - the last line was the best part. Being fairly ignorant about plants I didn't realise mistletoe was a parasite, and that darker strand (how they twine/why the twine) makes makes the poem so much more interesting. Love it.

Thanks Jo for your kind comment. That last line was put in as the challenge is 'greetings' so I had to end with an 's'. I also wanted the poem to be darker. I'm in the minority, I suppose, as I dislike wreaths. They make me shudder.

Thanks Kirsty. Glad you like it. Yes, those romantic tokens are parasites but fortunately don't damage the apple trees the live off.

I agree the last line should stay, Jennifer. I love it when a poem tells me something I didn't know previously. It sends me off to Google where I always seem to find something shiny. :) They must make picking the apples rather troublesome I would imagine. Nice work, Dave.

We have plenty of holly and ivy. Would love mistloe. Will try to smear the seeds on the branches of my one remaining apple tree.
Lovely Christmas poem.
