I promise to make you more alive
than you have ever been
and take you on a journey
to the centre of your soul.
I’ll take you places, show you sights
that you have never seen,
and pleasure you with feelings
that love alone beholds.
From Timbuktoo to Samarkand,
I’ll love you under desert skies
as we traverse the ancient
trans-Saharan trading route,
and in the courtyards of
a dozen caravansarais,
the moon will light our pleasures
as we share forbidden fruit.
More precious than the mystic cloves
from ancient Zanzibar,
the romance of the Silk Road
or the search for Shangri-La,
we’ll find the love that binds us
and the mystery between …
and I will make you more alive
than you have ever been.

Okay --I suspect you'll have to give us all a minute to pack laugh

Gorgeous Mike!  I love it.  You deserve a medal for putting 'caravansarais'  into a poem which is so wonderful.  Excellent response.

Joan

I am also impressed about this unusual word (hello google!) finding it's way into your poem, Mickey.

I tell you what it sounds amazing to me, the trip would get 5 stars on trip advisor!

But best of all is that rollong sense of momentum you give, which makes you want to read this aloud. The more exotic it got, the more it built up

I very much like 'the mystery in between', what an absolutely accurate way to describe love. Who understands it? None of us!

Thanks for posting this one, Mickey. As every with your work, it's entertaining and full of surprise.
