I’m dreaming of a White Christmas
just like the ones I used to know.
But with the Met Office warning
of dire global warming
the chances of that now seem pretty low.

I’m dreaming of a White Christmas -
turkey, brussels sprouts and roasted spuds.
But now the seas are rising
it no longer seems surprising
that winter snow’s replaced by annual floods.

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas
and so, to all my WriteWords friends I say
may your end of year be dry
and may snow fall from the sky
and may you all enjoy your Christmas Day

PS    Don’t listen to the Met Office – they always were a non-prophet organisation!!

Thanks for the good wishes. I could do without any snow though wink as they never clear our cul de sac.

love 'non-prophet organisation!' Excellent!
As is the rest of the poem, Mickey.

This part is marvellous

But now the seas are rising
it no longer seems surprising
that winter snow’s replaced by annual floods.

Funny and elegant rhymiing, as ever!

Merry Christmas to you too!

Nice Mike, may your's be a good one too but does it have to be dry? Oh I see what you mean.

Good topical response.
