Melody of an oasis

You are my oasis
my dream
my love
my life.

Like an island
a rock
solid
all comsuming.

My single rose
pure white
virgin in soul
a flame brought to life.

I am yours
take as you will
do what you like
love to fulfill.

How can i say the words
what do i say
listen my darling
Je-t'aime.

Alice, this is beautiful. The first verse reminds me of some of my favorite lines of all time in poetry...

'For thou art my love, my life, my heart
the very eyes of me
and hast command of every part
to live and die for thee.'

(I hope having said that I have quoted it right, it's been a long time.)

It has a real power and is the kind of poem that halts a person in their stride. Lovely.
