Blurred Mind

Growing in my eye
tearing at my heart
watching as this world
slowly rips apart

I never saw it before
or I refused to accept it
but now I’ve been reminded
I just can’t live without it

Screeching through my thoughts
whirling through my mind
thinking how beautiful it is
to know you, one of a kind

Not focussing on thinking
difficult to concentrate
paying no attention
staring into space

All my notions and beliefs
are each now questioned
confusing me all over again
feeling they could be illusion

So I’ll say goodnight
and wave away normality
consider perplexing decisions
and try to keep my sanity

I know this will be hard
though I know not what to do
my mind’s an utter muddle
now that I love you

Hi Rai, the early days of being in love certainly feel like a sort of insanity, and you've captured the turmoil of those feelings beautifully. Write on!

'My mind's a complete muddle' - I understand that completely. 'All my notions and beliefs are each now questioned' - Yes, you have expressed it very well.

Rai, it struck me that you write with such power, such force. Would very much love to see the flip side. Every negative has a postive pole too.

A striking piece, as always.

Thanks a lot, I think that when I find the right time and the right words then there may be an opposite poem in the making.
