Lost

Which direction, which way is right
Keeping hold of objectives not loosing sight
Like a foolhardy potholer’s lantern on top
Pointing ways that are futile before you can stop
Ever questioning guides that were always held true
Until the pressure of life stifles what you can do
Not just the direction but the means to get there
By unwavering candour with the need to be fair
The hope and despair that life brings to you
Of thinking then knowing just what is to do
Anger, bitterness and lost courage rise high
And the resentment of futility at failing to try
Which path is the right one, which walk is the way
Whose choice are we taking at the end of the day
The map that we followed was penned by a past
So moral and right the die had been cast
The faster we run the slower we progress
The more that we crave gives us morally less
A desire to change the shoes that take us our way
With the firm held belief of come what may
The greatest danger that we need to address
Is to know the answer or be content with a guess
And here lies the problem and here lies the cost
Of strolling through life being morally lost.

Lost in a sea of despair, only you don't notice because ignorance is there. Big difference between being rudderless, directionless (could stem from being disconnected from the One within) and treating life as a journey, and not a destination. Made me pause for thought (for ages). A meditative piece.

We map our own lives out and the future it holds.
Grab it by the scruff of the neck,or be a recluse and let life pass by.

You can be alive but not living.

Well done.
