I know Richard Yates said it in A Natural Girl
but everyone is an actor
playing roles
in the big Life production
directed by noone
except cruelty
and everyone is acting their part right now
I’m acting at writing a poem
you’re acting at reading one

I like the last two lines, completely killer! Short, succinct and true. This could be expanded to a fuller monologue piece of poetry, performance if you will. I can sense real venom waiting to be spat.
