You was so young
everything in front of you,
an only child,
now your gone.

You was brought up with respect,
doted on you were
never needed anything,
so why?

Who gave you the drugs?
what invaded your body?
what destroyed your life?
what killed you?
Heroin.

Twenty five should be fun,
too much,
too soon,
now your dead.

A tragic subject to write about Stan... a wasted, unfulfilled life with no answers and reminding us that life can be ugly as well as beautiful.

Alice, 'Why?' is a question which will probably never really be answered. Death at an early age is a tragedy for any reason, but this seems such a waste.

Our local community has just suffered the loss of two fine young men, aged 17, destined for great things academically and in the sporting field. They were killed in a car accident ten days ago.

Not easy to find the right words.

Joan, yes this was a waste one that could have been prevented.
Same with the young men who wanted to live and never had a chance.

Hi Alice,

Haunting poem, and one, hopefully, your friend is appreciating, even now.

Hello Alice,

When you are not close to an event like this, it is so easy to ignore it, treat it like just another sound bite. My younger brother got involved with drugs years ago and, indirectly, it killed him, so I know what your friends are going through.

Take care,

John P.

My friend's brother died experimenting with aerosols... Yes lots of questions remain + disbelief.
