You emerged
from thin air,
a smile so radiant
a beauty so rare.

The blue-eyed maiden
flaxen-halo ablaze,
captivating charm
built upon uncompromising ways.

Your open heart and challenging mind
set you apart,
I stayed for a moment
but shall return.

Unable to capture
in words it is true
that spirit of Roovacrag
of Red through and through.

And, on this special day
my mother of red,
proud I stand,
much more could be said…

A spade is, afterall, a spade.

Red

A loving testament to Red Sr (Mrs), in response to her companion piece, 'Christina'. A snapshot in colour (with crimson filter), capturing the essence of an uncompromising, spade-bearing Woman. Yes, she is Alice indeed.

A warm tribute, Walrus. Your regard and her character shines through. Like the final two stanzas especially, echoes her style.

(Happy Birthday Alice!)

Red what can I say. Brought tears to my eyes.
You make me happy just talking.
