Darkness
Where is the light?
Give me fresh air
Give me light, show me the way,
a way.
Out of this darkness.
Push me, drag me out of here.
This lonely place, this self destructive hole
into which I have submerged.
The cold isolation traps me with its
insidious warmth.
Of blindness of ignorance of duplicity.
Hidden away from my own fears and torment.
In the darkness of the apparent light of seeing.

Paul a well written piece.
How can we show the light to the blind?
Or drag anyone from thier innerself of destruction, that they have no way of doing it themselves.
A lonely place for anyone young.
No medicine can heal,just control.

All we can do is try to understand how they feel.
Then cope as best we can.

Well done.

Paul

A timely piece with impact, worthy of re-reading, crossing as it does the porous border between defiance and desperation.

I especially relate to this poem. The despair you've injected into it is well known to me and to many others. I'ts also very perceptive in that it describes the awful feeling of hopelessness that is so hard to shake off. I love the lines:

This lonely place, this self destructive hole
into which I have submerged.
The cold isolation traps me with its
insidious warmth.

These describe the 'catch 22' situation of many of us who suffer with these feelings.

Well done.
