I sit and smile and giggle at the day which falls this eve,
And frown about the future that through no choice I’ll receive.
As a couple of million people put a cross upon a page,
Guided by a hand that’s dictated too by deception and rage.
It mocks me when my future is decided by a past,
That controls me from a distant that was never meant to last.

I watch and see the days that make me cry for heavens sake,
On selfish and hopeless decisions others choose to make.
Regarding my everyday, this only breath I share
This instrumental reason, this fundamental care,
About another human being about another human choice
To put us on another cloud to help us all rejoice.

Our days are sadly numbered by another’s stuttering pen,
That slaps it in an order more concerned with how than when.
We try to be the real thing a most worthy port of call,
But its hard to keep on standing when you know your gonna fall.
So the truly only thing that matters is to take what you receive,
On the scariest of Monday’s on doomsdays very eve.

I get the feeling sometimes that a decision's going to be made that's going to affect me powerfully, and I really don't trust the judgement of those making the decision. Now, I'm all for democracy but sometimes I wish people had more sense. Great poem, capturing a mood well.

I liked
'I sit and smile and giggle at the day which falls this eve,
And frown about the future that through no choice I’ll receive.'

It's all like watching a car crash. Or some other horrible inevitability.

Bye!

James

James

Quite frankly it all scares me a little. It's like allowing a child to play with traffic lights.

Four more years. Poor planet earth.

Yeah, I just saw on News 24. Kerry's conceding. Not that there was loads of difference between the two, but hey, he wasn't Bush, and he surely couldn't have been worse.

I just read a bushism and nearly wet myself and I quote.

" The french dont understand us because they have a word for entrepeneur "

If that is true it's wonderful.
