The Commander

Summary: Based loosely on a Siegfried Sassoon war poem " The General "

Print Double spaced

The Commander in Chief
Showed us the way
With his able instructions
Towards the affray.

But misunderestimating
of an enemy not mine
Compounded a problem
For those on the line.

“We’re saving the world”
As bombs rained down
“From higher oil prices
and sadly not Bush the clown”

my kind of political poem, i like it,
not read "the general", but this says just about enough on it's own, it's just a shame the politicians can't tell us the real reason for their actions, but then would we believe them anyway?
all the best,
Bryan.

yeah i read it,
it's rather good,
bit of an understatement there me thinks,
and the last line is just about perfect,
i will make a note of reading more,
cheers paul,
all the best,
bryan.
