This is the truth:
Judge alert the typewriter
God your angels in white.

I am a na nada la la
a na da la nada da la.
-a na la?
-yes, a la na.

I swam in the ocean last night and made love to the moon and the stars
I sang as I swam&I shuddered&shivered
and then made love to my man.
Waves rippled, tipsy with their dew,
crabs gathered and watched the things up above,
and a hippo in Africa ripped through a tent of a child,
(but only to look, only to look)
so my lover and I carried on.

I am a na nada la la,
a na da la nada da la.

I swam in the ocean last night and dreamt of the planets above,
Jupiter suddenly bounced off of Earth and left a bright blue splodge.
-but shouldn't it have been more ochre?
-reddish and orange like the sun?

Well if you please then do as you will and paint it the colour that you like.
Because you can my friend yes you can my friend
do anything and everything
of the things that you dream of at night.

Like make love on the roof of the palace of monarchs
and then kiss in the brothels of whores.
-isn't that not right though?
-wouldn't that be obscene?

Shoulders shrug,
blame is relinquished and an answer you want is
not given.
-do you still desire me?
-do you still want more?

Well come and find me at tea time,
dining with the Queen.

But I wanted my own private fiefdom,
I wanted a kingdom that was mine,
with all the petty plebian serfs there
and (of course) that big fat throne.
-opulent and so decadent?
-yeah! yeah! yeah! yeahyeah!

But the shoulders are shrugging
(again)
and the face is set as if to say
so
bloody
(so bloody)
so what and damn it
so what
(so bloody)
what.

But don't mistake the civilians,
and the witch that casts a spell,
please do so if you wish though,
but then
ahhhhh,
smiled the
Teacher,
then you are all alone.

So whisper very quietly,
whisper it whilst just you,

(I am the na da la la
the da na la na da la la).

Extremely brilliant and beguiling; like some tripped-out marriage of Walt Whitman, Tom Waits and Edith Sitwell! Very rich and resonant - we're all part of it and everything affects everything; is that part of it? Much to ponder and enjoy.

Best,
Mike

yey someone made a comment! always terrifying when you see 'be the first to make a comment" sign as thinking your poetry not being 'got'...so thank-you mike for reading and 'getting' it yes we're all part etc spot on and havn't heard of waits or sitwell but love the "like a tripped out marraige" line-would be great in a poem!
was truing to create a sort of ensemble piece with a undercurrent that linked all the different piece, even with the nonesense bits, wanted the poem to touch on very lightly, almost superficial way on the complete everythingness of life, like a sort of kaleidoscopic mess...
thank-you for reading and enjoying
