Think of me as you sail
under clear november skies
with a warm land breeze on the beam
fond memories in your cobalt eyes.
I’ll think of the sea and quell her
calm the northwest wind
as I remember the soft touch of your lips
and the warmth that you gave from within.
The morning sun on its rising
with its burst of passion and fire
leaves you envisioned upon me
encompassed with all you inspire.
I’ll remember the meridian blaze
as you surge on the crest of a wave
and call on the cool sea breeze
to temper the heat of the day.
And now when the zenith has passed
progressing, further southward you go
I’ll think as the evening draws close
of the mermaid I long to know.

Now gaze on the starlit night
and follow the soft moon beam
there you will see me smiling
keeping safe the hopes of this dream.

All the elements - sun, moon, stars, day, night, seas and skies in the form of a ballad-like poem.

A gentle, enjoyable read.
