when every step feels right
but no destination lies in sight
can we declare our own intent?
shout out aloud a plan?

how shallow and injudicious life can be
when pride is hurt and comes before
an all too obvious a fall

so where does the answer lie?

there is a route
between the fortress and the open sky
hidden in the valley, a winding path
that leads along the mountain edge

sure footed, carefully we tread
quietly, slowly, ever up

fences and ditches protection make
but add frustration, and prison bars
if our destiny is one day to reach
where Venus lies alongside Mars

this is about a relationship
when you don't know where it is leading ..
everything feels right .. but no so right that you feel that you can declare your intent to the world

Ellenna, thank you for saying that :O)

This was the inspiration.. if any one was wondering

Stone Walls doe not a Prison make,
Nor I'ron bars a Cage;
Mindes innocent and quiet take
That for a Hermitage;
If I have freedome in my Love,
And in my soule an free;
Angles alone tha sore above,
Injoy such Liberty.

Richard Lovelace, British poet, (1618-67).
