I wander seaboard inhaling olfactory life.
Salt water air, finer than any man made aroma
sweeter than any perfume,
caresses swollen lungs like a tantric lover
scenting the soul.
Seaweed and shellfish bouquet
awaken sensory taste buds,
each erecting their own small tongue
in lustful anticipation.
On the wind wood smoke breezes
from an open fire laid then lit,
in a cottage on a hill preparing for supper.
Nostrils flare anticipating tantalizing
aromas of possible love cooked meals.
Wet bracken and grass hum
of imminent fresh green spring
with a suntan oil scent summer to follow.

Pene, this is great! You even managed to make my mouth water in line 15. My senses were totally awakened, your descriptions made this so easy for me.
Thanks :0)

Soooooooooooo sensory and sensual. I love the language and the connected thoughts in this poem. Especially:

"Nostrils flare anticipating tantalizing"

The reader trips along with the t's and s sounds which make the line come alive.

Love it.

Lisa
