The cars flash by,
heedless of impediments,
savouring their very endangerment.
The screech of brakes
applied too late,
the tooting of horns
announcing their fate.
The endless swearing
a flood, a veritable Tourette's spate.
Why the hurry, why the rush?
The answers lost in the airless, G-Force crush.
Acceleration, speed, road greed,
the destinations nebulous.
On arrival, all adrenalin spent
patience returns, banishing the impetuous.

Dorothy, this isn't about a taxi ride in a Greek cab is it? Only the title and having experienced a ride in a Greek taxi, that's the vibe I got from reading it. That and how it mirrors society somewhat, 'Why the hurry, why the rush?'.
Nice one.

Peace and Love

Don

Cheers Don. Am living in small Greek village at the moment and it is my take on their mad driving which not at all reflects their otherwise laid back approach to life.

Real roller coaster ride. Had me standing on the side of the road reeling from the confusion.
