Greet the glutton Glasgow
Oven-unready porridgey faces
Sunglare dents and abraids

Stage whistles
Looming bunkment
His throat promise-crammed
His voice sound like guitars
Rascally changes of tone
The Quick, the Loud & the Drink

In a gloomy sublimity
Skankbent, shankspent, in tufty tight grey
Makes the plated air dimple with slash and zam
Gawking forward but trailing a satchmouth – woman squawk emerges
Organised scraper
Chest turfed out
Shunting his fardle, numb fumble at a Munchkin mewl-organ,
He’s in toys on the floor

Automatic silly, falling slowly
Acoustic steam in a volatility of ambience
This till is close
Would Mr Squirrel please join his friends

This is very good. I haven't been back to Scotland since 1978, and this made me realise it.

I haven't got the faintest idea what any of this is about! The words sound great but the only bit that I understood was 'porridgey faces'. Living in Glasgow's east end I see a lot of porridgey faces. :)

I just clicked on your poem on random read when I saw the catchy title and author name. Irresistible combination. I wasn't disappointed. Unusual, unsettling, bewildering. Good work. -- Ian

I love,love,love this - more please!

It made me think of Dylan Thomas although I haven't read his work for years.

That is a good thing, by the way...
