Anybody ever wanted to jump to the moon?
Grab hold of a shooting star and then scream like a loon.
Anybody ever wanted to run naked outside during an exotic Asiatic monsoon?
Spin like a whirling top around and around till you dropped, saturated, drenched by a sultry Mandalay rain.

Ever wanted to drop like a stone into a clear blue ocean, test the theory that drowning is merely a scaremonger’s notion?
No, well, what about skipping over clouds, cooing and laughing at storks flying by with newborn babes.
Maybe run off a cliff and surf on a jet stream all the way to a mysterious hidden Caribbean bay.

Do you dream, does your imagination run rife; does it still, did it ever? If the answer is no then I beg of you to try find or regain… and look for the thrill, of captains and kings, of horses with wings, pirates in galleons and dark tall towers on top of mysterious beach shored hills.
Think of magic and wishes, of genies and jinns, marvel at sumptuous treasures hidden away in forgotten caves, gasp in horror while standing alone by the door of the house on the hill.

And has anybody…

Er........

Hellooooo!!

Is anybody there?

Someone…surely

???????.......

Anybody?

Hi, Flashy. This is really ringing a bell; it reminds me of a piece posted on here ages ago and I am going to have to set off in search of it.

This makes me feel very wistful. I like the way the lines lengthen until it almost becomes prose, then stops dead to ask the questions. (In answer to which, "Yes, I'm here!")

Lovely images - I was there all the way!

Joanie

Ah this is a re-post by me, i was a member here for year up until November 2004. My username has changed from Flash to Flashy cos i got mixed up when re-joining the site and made an error.

This is a slightly altered version to the one you first read, but i'm glad you enjoyed the read anyway.

Thanks

Alan

Nice writing Alan and great sentiments. Lots of wonderful images and I love the humour at the end.

Yes, we are out here! In fact, we are all in here ...

Hi Flash(y). Oh, Good! I wasn't imagining it then. Thanks for telling me - I had started to trawl the archives but gave up in the end.

Splendid hymn to imagination and possibilities. I like the challenge, too. Keep scribbling.

Best,

Mike
