Until you grip the rock down there
Sweat from fingertips

Onto the hidden places in the rock.
Last of your inspiration and hope
Finding it’s way to blend inside the face you never could touch before
The last act of fallen angel.

The cool breeze that
Winds
And
Wends
Over the hills caresses you deep into the place you never wanted to go
But now the desire for sleep is the only thing you know.
The journey has ended.
Time to sleep and dream forever
Forever dream
Just dream
Dream

Oooo I like this! Like the dangling and dripping words stretched out(!) and also the idea of how it moves from being stuck in a 'rut' to the welcome oblivion of sleep and the dreams it will bring.

Hi Christina,

Hopefully the poem conveys that the sleep and dreams will also bring fresh hope.

I wanted the dangling and dripping words to draw the reader down and into the shorter spaces below.

Best wishes,

David
