Couples

the skylark sings to hide a silence
the honey bee eats no sweet honey

the drowning fish gasps on the sea
the unasked girl still loves to dance

the nervous boy as brave as death
the full heart's well a dry nib's love.

Ooh, very mysterious and enticing indeed! I did wonder if the nervous boy should have something more definite to do, in the same way that the other subjects do? And I think it should be:

the full heart's well a dry nib's love

?
