Self Publishing - ISBN, Printing and Production

ISBN
Make your book look thoroughly professional by having an ISBN number. This is not compulsory but it is certainly advisable if you intend to sell your title through bookshops.

All you have to do is apply and pay the fee for a block of ten numbers (it is not possible to purchase single numbers). Contact:
ISBN Agency

The usual turn round time is 10 working days but, for an additional charge, a 3 working day service is possible.
Printing and Production
There are many companies willing to print and bind books. You may well want to seek several quotations but do be careful that your chosen company is well-established and experienced. I shopped around and found a company which is highly competitive as far as price is concerned, completely competent and, importantly, very pleasant in their dealings.

The company is

Antony Rowe Ltd.,
Bumper’s Farm,
Chippenham,
Wiltshire
SN14 6LH.

Tel: 01249 659705.
Fax: 01249 443103.

All of the information on the printing and binding of books at the end of this article is supplied by them.
